Yvonne E. (Winterstein) Widenhouse

Yvonne Winterstein Widenhouse, 84, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023. She was born November 15, 1938 in Baltimore, MD. The daughter of the late Charles W. Winterstein and Edna Hill Winterstein. Yvonne was a 1956 graduate of Parkville High School. She worked for the Baltimore County Public Library system as an administrative assistant until her retirement. Yvonne was the beloved wife for over 57 years of the late Bufort Widenhouse. They were active members of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Baltimore, MD where she was the pianist for the Everyman's Bible Class, and sang in the choir. After moving from Baltimore to Harford County to be closer to family. Yvonne was active at Churchville Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir. Yvonne loved family events, especially large Thanksgiving dinners which she hosted for many decades. In her earlier years, in addition to playing the piano, Yvonne enjoyed crocheting/sewing, canning pickles, vegetables and jams.

In addition to her parents Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband, Bufort N. Widenhouse and a sister, Carol Ann Young.

Yvonne was the loving mother of son, Michael Widenhouse and wife Maureen of Churchville, MD; and son, Gregory Widenhouse and wife Karine of Flower Mound, TX; devoted grandmother of Martin Widenhouse, Matthew Widenhouse, Samantha Widenhouse, Kevin Widenhouse, Makayla Henry, Simon Widenhouse, and Laurie Widenhouse; loving great-grandmother of Paisley Widenhouse, and the loving Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Yvonne's life will be honored on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 3-5 & 7-9 at the Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 3 Newport Drive, Forest Hill, MD. The funeral service will be held October 28, 2023 at Churchville Presbyterian Church, 2844 Churchville Rd., Churchville, MD beginning at 10 am. Interment at Parkwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the CCBC Foundation c/o "The Bufort Widenhouse Scholarship" at the Community College of Baltimore County Foundation, Inc., 7200 Sollers Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21222.
