Walter McFaul, Jr. Obituary

(UPDATE 2/19/2021 9:35AM) DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, VISTATION AND SERVICE HAS MOVED TO TUESDAY FEBRUARY 23, 2021

After a long illness, Glen, age 75 of Forest Hill, MD passed away peacefully at the Forest Hill Heights Senior Living Center where he resided with his wife of 54 years Therése Magdelyn (nee Tyler) lovingly referred to as “Toby” by her family and friends.

Glen was predeceased by his daughter Jillian Marissa McFaul and his parents, Walter “Mickey” and Frances McFaul of Hamilton.

He was the loving father of W Glen McFaul, III & wife Kristin (nee Lashno) of Baldwin; dear brother of Richard Allen McFaul & wife Lois of Bel Air; treasured grandfather of Adelaide, Cassidy and Wynnie and loving uncle of 30 nieces and nephews.

Glen was a graduate of St. Dominic in Hamilton, Towson Catholic (‘63,) and the University of Baltimore.

He began working for BGE at the downtown Customer Service Bureau when he was only 16.  This early experience began a 39-year career in Sales and Service with BG&E where his keen mind, sharp planning and people skills were widely recognized by both customers and co-workers. Upon his retirement from BG&E, he moved his skills to a home- based job with the Pyle Fence Company where he was able to balance his love of working directly with customers along with Toby’s needs as her MS condition progressed.

Glen was a social animal that loved being with family and friends while enjoying the simple pleasures of life. He and Toby cared for his mother for 23 years in their home where they provided her comfortable private quarters, and she was able to grow close to her grandchildren Glen and Jill.  He loved his home, gardens and together with Toby, they kept their property well-manicured.  He also enjoyed all the Baltimore things…the Orioles, the Colts, steamed crabs, oysters and Chesapeake Bay boating and fishing. He was a wonderful storyteller keeping notes on his favorites and could be caught rehearsing them for flawless delivery.

Glen served for six years in the Maryland Army National Guard and coached youth baseball and soccer for nine years.

At his passing everyone is saying the same thing: he was just a great guy and we really loved him.
