Robert Frank Altenburger

On January 13, 2022, Robert F. “Bob” Altenburger, 92 of Parkville, Maryland; a member of the United States Marine Corps serving in the Korean War at Chosin Reservoir; Bob was one of the last surviving members of the Chosin Few; beloved husband of the late Margaret M. “Marge” Altenburger; loving friend and companion of Celeste Breitenbach; devoted father of Robert K. Altenburger and his wife Kim, Michael H. Altenburger, Teresa Griffith and her husband Mark and Jeanene Gwin and her husband Sonny; loving grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Bob’s life at Evans Life Celebration Home-Parkville, 8800 Harford Road on Thursday January 20, 2022, from 4-6 pm. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday January 21, 2022, at 10:00 am at St. Ursula Church. Inurnment: Parkwood Cemetery.
