On April, 28th, 2022, Philip F. Haxel, Jr., 68, of Bel Air, MD, passed away. Beloved husband of Kitty Miller Haxel; cherished son of the late Philip F. Haxel, Sr. and Gloria L. Haxel; devoted father of Peter Simek and his wife Nicole Simek, Melissa Simek-Lemos and her husband Joey Lemos, Noel Haxel and her husband Patrick Vasilakis, Philip Haxel III, Michael Haxel and his wife Kaci Haxel, and Matthew Haxel and his fiancé Aryn Dougherty; caring grandfather of Liam, Delaney, and soon to be Julian; dear brother of Lynn Warner and her late husband Craig Warner, and Lois Manning and her husband Greg Manning; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Philip was the 3rd generation owner and president of F.W. Haxel flags, flagpoles, banners, and signs since his early 30s. He was passionate about horse racing, his family, music, sports, and devoted a lot of his time helping the residents at the Mann House and their efforts to achieve and sustain sobriety.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Philip’s life at the family owned – Evans Life Celebration Home in Forest Hill, MD – 3 Newport Drive with a receiving of friends on Saturday, May 7th, 2022 from 10AM-1PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1PM.
