With a warm and jovial spirit that touched many, Michael James "Mickey" Sheridan, age 84, of Parkville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024, in Towson, Maryland. Born on October 22, 1939, to a family that would grow to cherish his humor and love, Mickey lived a life brimming with faith, laughter, and devotion to those he held dear.
Mickey's life journey began in Olney and later blossomed in matrimony with his beloved wife, Wanda C. Sheridan (nee Burrell). Together, they raised a family that reflects the fullness of his love: Ali R. McMahon and her husband Jason, Erin M. Sheridan and her partner Shaun, and he held close the memory of his late son, Michael J. Sheridan, Jr. His role as grandfather to his adored grandchildren, Ian B. Seay and Sydney R. Seay, was one filled with pride and endless support.
His siblings, Terrance B. Sheridan with wife Mary Jane, Anne M. Cahill and late husband David, Mary T. Sheridan with husband Kevin, all share in the loss of a dear brother whose laughter and presence were a cornerstone in family gatherings. Mickey's life enriched those of his many loving nieces and nephews whom he treasured greatly.
Mickey's educational journey at Parkville High School set the stage for his lifelong dedication to service, culminating in a laudable 43-year career with the State of Maryland's Highway Administration District 4. His work ethic and commitment to community were hallmarks of his character.
Mickey, a proud Irishman and a disciplined marathon runner, he balanced his athleticism with a penchant for Apple Pie, Chocolate Chip cookies with nuts, and the occasional reward of a cold Guinness Blonde. His loyalty extended to the Orioles, for which he was a staunch fan, and his faith found a home at St. Ursula's Catholic Church where he was a devout parishioner.
Remembered by family and friends as faith-filled, funny, and loving, Mickey Sheridan's legacy is one of unwavering love, cherished memories, and the simple pleasures of life that he so enjoyed. His bright essence will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Mickey's life at the family owned Evans Life Celebration Home -8800 Harford Road, Parkville MD 21234, for a Visitation on Monday, April 22nd 2024, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM.
