Mary Gainer Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Gainer, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023. Born on June 11, 1965, in Baltimore;  Mary was known by all for her generous spirit and the love she had for her family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Gainer, and their three children, Kevin Gainer, Kyle Gainer, and Joseph Berlin. She was a doting grandmother to Carolynn Gainer and Silas Berlin. The close-knit bond Mary shared with her siblings, Tammy McCoy, Sharon Devoe, Sandra Willmon, and Woodrow Barnes III, was a testament to her unwavering dedication to family.

Mary spent her professional life as a bookkeeper at an accounting firm. She was known for her meticulous nature and commitment to her work, always going above and beyond to ensure the accuracy and reliability of her accounts. Her colleagues admired her for her professionalism and her warm, friendly demeanor. She loved music and going to concerts.

A lover of tropical beaches, Mary traveled extensively, with memorable trips to Barbados, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. Despite her love for travel, Mary was a homebody at heart and cherished spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends.

She was also an enthusiastic Baltimore Ravens fan. Her favorite color, purple, was a testament to her unwavering support for her favorite team. She was often seen donning her Ravens jersey on game days, cheering on her team with an infectious spirit that brought joy to all around her.

Mary was a woman of extraordinary generosity. She was always the first to lend a helping hand, to offer a kind word, or to provide support when it was needed the most. Her generous spirit and genuine kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she met, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In remembering Mary, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, generosity, and a deep commitment to family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her. Mary Elizabeth Gainer will always be remembered as a beacon of love, light, and kindness. Her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
