Marilyn Marshall Obituary

On April 24, 2022, Marilyn Marshall, of Baltimore; cherished mother of Natasha Marshall, Eddison Marshall, Nadine Marshall-Joseph, Steffon Lewis, and Nadia Norton, beloved grandmother of Rondell Campbell, Nicholas Marshall, Atysha Marcano, Marcus Pivitt, Mekhi Cruickshank, Breanna Cruickshank, Charlize Lewis, Logan Norton, Mackenzie Norton, Josiah Lewis, Luke Lewis, Eden Lewis, and Noah Alford, loving great-grandmother of Beckham Sammy, loving sister of Rhonda Edwards, Sylvanna Joseph, Stewart Lewis, John Lewis, Ingrid Clark, Kurt Lewis, Gina Edwards, Mahalia Lewis, Ian Lewis, Avalon Brown, and Nicole Hudges. She will be joining her loved ones that have passed on her loving husband Roger Marshall, her parents Idalia Lewis and Theophilus Lewis, and her grandson Daniel Marcano.

“Mommy”, “Aunty Marilyn”, “Maro”, “Pinky”, “Cool Grandma” and according to the love of her life (Roger) “Black Pearl”. Marilyn was a complicated simple woman who did things so selflessly and genuinely that it made you automatically look to her as your protector, confidant, friend, and mother. No matter what title we gave her she was a mother to most if not all that truly knew her. Her resilience and strength were like no other. Through all of the challenges that could have defeated her, they only made her stronger. She made a way out of any situation that seemed like there was no way out. Only mommy can have a life that came full circle, she passed on her birthday. All we can say is WOW!

In the end, she asked God to stop the pain and He did. She also asked Nadia to not give her a speech and for Eddie to stop breathing on her neck; they both listened, they had no choice. In her own right, she was a firecracker. She would say things that made you think “this nice quiet lady didn’t just say that”; but guess what?  She did! Like, telling Aunty Ingrid and Nadine she needed to come downstairs and teach them how to cook because what they were feeding her just didn't taste right. We all know we can't throw down as Mommy could in the kitchen! Her coo coo would have you licking your plate clean and her black cake and sweet bread…. NO ONE can measure up! If you knew Mommy, you’ll be able to relate.

We are thankful to have met such a phenomenal woman during our time on this earth. Such a beautiful soul and the best part is that we get to say that she was our mother. Thank you mommy for everything, and we mean EVERYTHING. Thank you for being our Mother, our friend, our confidant, our everything. You were the strongest most amazing woman we've ever known. We love you mommy may your light shine on through infinity. You finally gained your wings. Our Angel.
