Margaret Mary Nickles, a vivacious woman cherished by many, departed from this life on September 6, 2023. Born on April 19, 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Margaret Matilda Myers (nee Oberlander), and Frank Edward Myers, Margaret infused in people's lives a tangible sense of compassion and kindness, characteristic of someone who spent their entire life in service to others.

She was a pillar of strength and support to her siblings, the late Charles Ronald Myers and her surviving sister, Edna May Leonard Dotterweich. Margaret's commitment to family was deep-rooted, nurtured by her late husband, Charles Harry Nickles Sr. This profound love is mirrored in the nurturing environment she provided for her own children - Darlene Gail Rye Napper and her husband Ronald, the late Charles Harry Nickles Jr., and Susan Arlene Nickles and her husband Todd Williams.

Margaret's legacy of love continues to be celebrated by her grandchildren - Timothy Michael Rye and his wife Laura, Charles William Nickles and his wife Lauren, Carrie Lynn McCarthy and her husband Rev. Christopher, and Amy Corinne DePasquale and her husband Dominic. Margaret had the joy of knowing her great-grandchildren Benjamin Howard Rye, Mia DePasquale, Vivian Nickles, Luca DePasquale, and Micah McCarthy. Her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephew also form part of her extensive loving family.

Margaret dedicated her professional life to healthcare as a Registered Nurse, diminuating her patients' sufferings as the Director of Nursing, and later, as a Nursing Home Administrator. Her commitment to service extended beyond her professional life, reflected in her role as a Sunday school teacher at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kingsville which she performed with a profound sense of duty and passion.

Away from work and service, Margaret found peace in life's simple joys. She nurtured nature as ardently as she nurtured those around her, her interests ranging from gardening to birdwatching. Her love for reading allowed her to travel to faraway lands while nestled in her favorite chair in the living room. More than anything though, Margaret was family-oriented, sharing and creating countless unforgettable moments.

The world was a better place with Margaret Mary Nickles in it. Her life's stories, teachings, and values remain with us, fostering a beacon of hope, resilience, and love. Today we not only mourn Margaret's departure but also celebrate a life beautifully and generously lived.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Margaret's memory.
