Louis James Burlas

Louis James "Jim" Burlas III passed away on March 8, 2024. Born on November 4, 1949, in Norfolk, VA, he was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Frances. He was the devoted husband to his wife of nearly 51 years, Nancy (Fiorini). 

Jim and Nancy met while students at what was then Towson State College. They were married on March 17, 1973. Jim always joked that he married a nice Italian girl on St. Patrick's Day. They were each other's soulmates. Together, they raised two daughters, Elisabeth and Theresa. Jim loved his girls, but it was difficult to be the lone male member of the household and he was grateful to gain his sons-in-law Marc Nelson and Nick Henn. Jim and Nancy also experienced the joy of being grandparents to their four grandchildren, Gloria, Robert, & Henry Nelson, and Caroline Henn. 

Jim is also survived by his brothers Michael (Susan) and Edward. He married into Nancy's family and was welcomed by her parents, the late Henry and Tessie Fiorini. He is survived by his mother-in-law Carole Fiorini; brother-in-law Henry Fiorini, and his wife Peggy; sister-in-law Gloria Miller, and her husband, Jerry; sister-in-law Elissa Perrera, and her husband, Chris; and sister-in-law Annette Havermann, whose husband, Dutch, is deceased. Nancy and Jim made many wonderful friends over the years and are grateful for the lifetime of memories.
