Kathleen James

Kathleen Lorraine James of Parkville, Maryland, passed away at the age of, 76, on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Joseph, loving mother of Ryan and his wife, Susan, Matthew and his wife, Nicola, and Emily, loving grandmother to Andrew, Molly, Kathryn, Freya and Rhys and dear sister of Joseph and his wife JoAnn.

Kathleen, lovingly known as Kathy or Kath, and her family, moved from New Jersey where she attended Parkville High School and earned her diploma. Kathy met her husband working at a local insurance company named, Maryland Casualty. They were married for fifty-three years. Kathy retired as a switchboard operator for Towson University.

Kathy was devoted to her loving family and especially doted on her beloved grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, watching mysteries such as, “Murder She Wrote,” gardening, baking, ceramics and traveling. Kathy flew to England to visit her son, Matthew, and got the chance to travel on the Eurostar train to Paris. She was loved by many friends and was known as a caring and kind soul.

The family has requested a private service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her honor.
