John A. Zeigenfuse, age 78, husband of 55 years to Peggy (Giordana) Zeigenfuse, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 in his home. John was born in Butler, Pennsylvania and grew up in Baltimore, with his parents Irvin and Hazel, and his brother and sister, Irvin and Nancy. John’s family includes his children and their spouses, Diana and Tim Walsh, John and Jolene Zeigenfuse, Amy Zeigenfuse and Dave McGee, and Jennifer and Michael Birdsell; 10 grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews. John served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 6 years. He was on staff at River Valley Ranch for 10 years and retired from Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman after 30 years.
John was known for his sense of humor, his readiness for fun, his dedication and love to his family, and faithfulness to friends. Most of all, he was known for his relationship with his Savior, Jesus Christ. He spent his life living out his faith caring for others. John served as a deacon and elder at Forge Road Bible Chapel. He volunteered at the Baltimore Rescue Mission and Child Evangelism Fellowship. He led Bible Studies at the Baltimore County Jail and served on the Boards of Stauros Ministries and Greater Baltimore Jail and Prison Ministry.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 16, 2024, 11:00 AM at Forge Road Bible Chapel, 5040 Forge Rd, Perry Hall, MD 21128.
