John Richard Wingate

On April 12th, 2021, John Richard Wingate, 81, of Baltimore, MD passed away. Beloved husband of Joann Wingate, married for 61 years; cherished son of the late John Calvert and Amanda Zahn; devoted father of Keith Wingate and his wife Nancy, Kristy Wingate, Kelley Shelton and her husband David, Selma Sokmen and her husband Omer, and the late Karl Wingate; loving grandfather of Joshua, Rachel, Karl, Ashley, Brody, Breanna, Brian and his wife Jenny, Christopher and his wife Jodie, Mikaela, Ozan, Emre, and the late Brandon; caring great-grandfather of Jazmin, Kaitlyn, Brielle, Olivia, Garrett, and Adalynn; dear brother of Linda Payne & her husband James; also survived by many other family, friends, and 37 foreign exchange students.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John’s memory to the GBMC oncology department.
