John Whitcraft Obituary

On November 13th, 2021, John Whitcraft, of The Villages, Florida, passed away at the age of 74. Beloved husband of 52 years, to Cheryl (Tawney) Whitcraft; adoring father to Jill and Jinger Whitcraft; caring grandfather to Chance Loomis; and a compassionate brother to Robert Whitcraft. John is predeceased by his parents, the late Carl and Ruth Whitcraft, and his sister, the late Jeanne Whitcraft.

John was born in York, Pennsylvania on December 21st, 1946. He went on to attend Hereford High and then studied at the University of Baltimore. He proudly served in the US Navy and found a career in school bus contracting. Some of his hobbies included eating Maryland crabs and corn on the cob with the family, golfing while at The Villages, and being a “professional” griller. In his youth, he and his father taught the entire family to water ski!

A visitation will be held at Evans Funeral Chapel, located in Monkton, MD, at 16924 York Rd, Monkton, MD 21111 on Friday Nov 19th from 6-9. A church service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, located at 16530 Trenton Church Rd, Upperco, MD 21155 on Saturday November 20th, starting at 11am with Pastor Mike Adams. A procession to the gravesite will follow immediately after services.
