John (Jack) Jude Tracey, 74, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 21, 2021, surrounded by his wife and his three favorite daughters, after a brief battle with Leukemia.
Jack was born on February 11, 1947, to John and Esther Tracey in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Greensburg Central Catholic High School in 1965, and pursued a degree in Economics at Wheeling College and an MBA at Duquesne University.
Jack devoted the majority of his 50 year career to the consumer finance industry. He has served as the Executive Director of the National Automotive Finance Association since its inception in 1997.
Jack met Mary Ellen Noonan at Wheeling College and in 1969 they began their 52 year marriage that was blessed with three daughters: Megan, Cara and Maureen. Family was central to Jack’s life. He was devoted to his wife, his children and their families and loved spending time with them. He and Mary Ellen shared a love of the West Virginia mountains and spending time there with family and friends. Among his most cherished memories were the annual Thanksgiving Noonan Family Reunions.
Jack’s Catholic faith was a guiding influence in his life. He was a parishioner of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Long Green Valley and Saint Thomas Aquinas, in Thomas, West Virginia.
Jack was an avid reader, a lifelong learner, a dedicated Pittsburgh sports fan, and a train enthusiast who enjoyed collecting, modeling, and riding trains. A favorite was the Cass Scenic Railroad.
Jack was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Jean Tracey. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Tracey; and his daughters, Megan Elizabeth Carroll (Sean); Cara Jean Pyles; and Maureen Aimee Hudson (Chris); and by eight grandchildren, Ryan, Grady, and Molly Carroll; Lizzy, Kealy and Joey Pyles; and Caroline and Nathan Hudson.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Long Green Valley in Hydes, Maryland on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 10 o’clock in the morning. Interment will immediately follow at Saint John the Evangelist Cemetery.
