On January 14th, 2022, Hannah Jeanette Cochran, 105, of Bel Air, MD, passed away. Beloved wife of the late Burley Cochran, married for 59 years; cherished daughter of the late Otto Grist and Daisy Smithson; sister to Ginny, Peggy, Marie, Tilly, George, Doris and Charlie, devoted mother of Burley Cochran Jr and his wife Donna, Ronald Lee Cochran and his wife Betty, Mary Doris Stephens and husband Michel, Michael Cochran Sr, and her late daughter Bonnie Mahan and husband Robert, her late son Robert ‘Bobby’ Cochran and wife Beverly; loving grandmother of Lauren Sarzuelo and husband Lorenzo, Mike Cochran Jr. and wife Tiffany, Kelly Godfrey, Robert ‘Mark’ Mahan and wife Michelle, Debra Ann Cochran and husband Tim, Robert ‘Mickey’ Cochran, Mary Beth Cochran, David “Randy” Grace and wife Crystal, Bonnie Lynn Grace Wells and husband Rick, Tommy Cochran, caring great-grandmother of Gabe Cochran, Ethan Cochran, Andrew Barshinger, Christopher Godfrey, Clay Godfrey, Abbi Mahan, Anna Mahan, Jacob Mahan, Tyler Norcross, Parker Norcross, Hunter Norcross, David Grace II, Terra Grace, Candice Robins, Joshua Robins and wife Tabitha, Hannah Stevens, and great-great grandchildren Beau Norcross, Izzy Grace, Jacob Grace, Bina Grace, Brantley Atwell, Emelia Atwell, Shilah Robins, Kevin Robins, Jaxen Robins; also survived by many loving relatives, neighbors, and friends.
As a caregiver until the age of 80 and homemaker, her long life revolved around the welfare of others. When her daughter-in-law suffered the tragic loss of her own mother, Hannah provided comfort and became a second mother to her. Hannah was a guiding light to everyone, her home a lighthouse. You knew that you could stop in anytime and she would make sure you had a hot meal and good conversation. When she knew you were safe, she was happy. When asked, her faith and her clean living were the secret to her longevity. Hannah and her husband Burley also ran the produce stand in Hickory for 15 years serving Harford county with pride.
