Gerald Sheridan Obituary

On February 10, 2021, Gerald James Sheridan, 94 of Baldwin MD, passed away. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Keesler Sheridan, devoted father of daughters Aimee Streicher and husband John, and Leslie Knapp and husband Don; loving grandfather of Lindsay Beggarly and Donald Knapp Jr.; also survived by many long time friends and family members.

Gerald quit high school in 1943 to join the Navy at the age of 17.  He served as a Radioman Third Class aboard a fuel tanker in the Panama Canal Zone.  After the war he re-entered high school at 21, graduating with the class of 1947.  He continued his education under the G.I. Bill for veterans at the State University of New York, Plattsburgh earning a BA in 1952.  He had a long career as Technical Publications Editor, retiring from Westinghouse Corporation in 1993.  In his retirement he was an avid reader and history buff, and enjoyed light carpentry as a hobby.  He was a long term member of St. James Episcopal Church in Monkton, MD, and the American Legion in Towson MD. This kind and humorous man will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
