Effie Mae McCarthy

On April 6, 2021, Effie Mae McCarthy, 90, of Forest Hill, MD passed away. She was the devoted mother of Susan Gladding & her husband Chuck, Deborah Kelly & her husband Bill, Cynthia Rehr & her husband Frank, Thomas Hunter McCarthy and the late Patricia Calvert & her surviving husband Don and the late T. Sean McCarthy; cherished grandmother, lovingly known as “Bam” by her 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; dear sister of 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Family and friends are welcome to honor Effie’s life with a Memorial Mass at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Hickory - 533 E Jarrettsville Rd, Forest Hill, MD 21050 on Monday, April 12th, 2021 beginning at 11 AM. Due to COVID-19, masks are required at church and please respectfully social distance. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donation in Effie’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
