Dwight Mapp Obituary

On Wednesday, February 6, 2020, God called to heaven, Dwight Edward Mapp, 69 of Forest Hill, MD, a great husband, devoted father, grandfather, and special friend to all who knew him. Dwight was kind, honest, generous, and loyal to those who took the time to know him and spend time with him. Dwight loved his wife, was proud of his children and delighted in his grandchildren. He knew hard work, integrity, honesty and generosity. His friends and co-workers would know him as generous with his time, funny, loyal, and always helping when needed. Dwight would easily give his opinion. He was proud to be a retiree of the 135th Air National Guard. Dwight served in Vietnam during his time in the US Army 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. He retired from Martin’s Airport. He would later work for Sunbelt, Rider Trucking, Federated (Fisher Auto) and when possible would help out at Marc’s Auto Center. He was an avid Oriole fan. He loved his 1955 Ford Fairlane and enjoyed going to car shows. His favorite past time was RV camping with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Ann Mapp (Holder), four daughters, seven grandchildren, and loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Dwight's life at the Evans Life Celebration Home-Bel Air, 3 Newport Drive (Rt. 23 & Rt. 24) Forest Hill with a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. If desired, contributions in Dwight's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
