Don Atkinson Obituary

On September 4th, 2021, Donald Atkinson, of Parkton, Maryland, passed away at the age of 86. Don was born on January 15th, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late S. Edwin and Mabel Atkinson. He is survived by his nephews, Whitney (Robin) Morrill, Todd (Karen) Morrill, Mark (Melinda) Morrill; nieces Terry (Mark) Silvano and Maribeth McCarthy. Also surviving Don are his great-nephews and great-nieces: Todd, Natalie, Lily, Jack, and Luke.

He was predeceased by his brothers Larry (Mary Lee) Atkinson and Jack (Shelia) Atkinson; sisters Eileen (Whitney) Morrill and Mary Joan (Jack) McCarthy.

Don served in three branches of the military: US Navy as well as US Army and US Marine Corps (deployed to Vietnam twice.)

Don graduated from Washington College (MD) and University of Baltimore School of Law.

Don loved his baseball in all versions as a semi-pro player, and fan of the Orioles and Cardinals.

He will be laid to rest at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, located in Owings Mills, MD on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 10:45 AM.
