Diane "Di" M. Wicklin, aged 60, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on February 24, 2024, after a life richly lived and lovingly given. Born on January 24, 1964, in Carney, Maryland, she grew into a beacon of warmth and joy for all who knew her.
As the dedicated daughter of the late Douglas and Marion Matterson, Diane embodied the virtues of kindness and compassion. She carried these values into her own family life, celebrating 37 years of wedded bliss with her beloved husband, David Wicklin. She was the cherished mother who enriched the lives of her daughters, Darlene Wicklin and Danielle Warfield, along with her son-in-law, Anthony. Diane's care also extended to her siblings, Robin Zulauf and Barbara Miller, and she shone bright as a caring aunt to her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A woman of numerous passions, Diane delighted in Friday Pizza Nights with her family – a cherished tradition. Her creative spirit found expression in crafting exquisite wreaths, cross-stitch artworks, and charming gnomes. Board and card games were amongst her favorite pastimes, a testament to her playful heart. A devoted dog lover, she shared special bonds with German Shepherds and Bulldogs alike. Diane's love for country music brought the rhythms of Reba, Alabama, and Alan Jackson into many a joyful household moment.
Diane's journey began at St. Ursula's Catholic Church, where she united with David Wicklin in marriage, and now, with her passing, those who loved her find solace in the lasting embrace of her memory.
