He is survived by his brother William Thomas “Tom” Swift and wife Mary Lee Swift (Kegley) and his sister Pauline Mae Brannan and many nieces and nephews.
Mike spent nearly 60 years as a dairy and grain farmer in Jarrettsville, Maryland alongside his father, brother, and daughters. He lived every day of his life exactly as he wanted. In his younger days, he was a Professional Duck Pin bowler, as well as an avid fast pitch softball player, who went on to manage several championship teams. Later on he enjoyed playing cards and watching The Young and The Restless every day with Edie. He is easily described as a stubborn man with a heart of gold, who was known for his many sayings and cheeky comebacks. He believed in right and wrong, he was right and everyone else was wrong, even the books.
There will be a private service and burial for immediate family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
