Charles Jerome Bolger, affectionately known as Jerry to those who knew him best, passed away on September 7, 2023. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 27, 1950, he was a beacon of kindness in every life he touched.
Charles, a proud alumnus of Northern High School, graduated in 1968 before bravely joining the Navy in 1969. His love for history translated into a long and meaningful career. As a History Teacher, Charles inspired countless students with his passion for the past. Later assuming roles as Dean of Discipline and Assistant Principal, Charles proved to be a devoted and compassionate educator.
He had a soft spot for Baltimore sports, cheering on the Orioles and the Ravens with unwavering dedication. Charles also enjoyed teeing off on golf courses, delving into historical books, and participating in the thrilling journey of travel, especially cruises. Charles was known for his love for Alma's secret crab soup and tapped his foot along with the beat of Elvis’ Love Me Tender, a cherished song shared with his wife of 42 years, Kathy.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Alma, and brothers, Donald, Jack, and Danny. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, his loyal dog Missy, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will carry his memory.
The life of this remarkable man serves as a reminder of the impact one kind soul can have on the world. Charles Jerome Bolger, you will be missed dearly.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Charles' life on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. at Evans Life Celebration Home- 8800 Harford Rd. Charles' funeral mass will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, 10 AM at St. Isaac Jogues-9215 Old Harford Rd. Interment at Gardens of Faith.
