On January 8, 2021, Charles Francis Blum, 95, who resided at Oak Crest Senior Living, Parkville, Maryland passed into our Lord’s loving arms. Charles, who was a US Army WWII veteran in the 422nd infantry, served during the roughest of battles in Europe between 1943-1946. As a young man Charles enjoyed traveling and an occasional Colorado skiing adventure; he loved cheering on the Baltimore Colts football team, running marathons and kicking his feet up on the dance floor. Charles was the beloved son of the late Charles M. Blum and Anna K Blum (nee Grandy) and the last surviving of 11 children. He was the loving brother of the late Benedict, Mary, Joseph, Katherine, Margaret, Victoria, Francis, Bernadine, George and Rita; also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins and the friends that cared for him at Oak Crest.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Charles’ life with a Visitation and Mass at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 10 Willow Avenue on Thursday, January 14, 2021. Visitation will be held in the church from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment to follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N.
