Carroll “Carl” Everett Johnson, 59, of Whiteford MD, passed peacefully on February 4, 2024, at home after his courageous year long battle with ALS. He was surrounded by his loving family and cherished pup Mollie.
He was born on November 14, 1964, to Elva and Leland Johnson of Knoxville, Maryland. Carl is survived by his wife Loretta Johnson, sons, Vincent Johnson, Bradley Johnson and Taylor granddaughter Everlee Johnson, brother Chester Johnson and many other close family members.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents Elva and Leland Johnson and siblings Leland Jr Johnson, Amonica Griffith, and Anthony Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Johnson, Vincent Johnson, Jason Kelso, Billy Griffith, Jeremy Miller and Mark Aldrich.
Carl was a prominent part of his community. Carl worked at his family-owned business for over 40 years. He worked like no other to provide a comfortable life for his family. Carl had many close friends because in great “Carl” fashion he was always willing to give a helping hand. When he did take a break from work, he enjoyed spending time at their farm in Western MD. He made many memories there with his wife of 39 years Loretta, his children, and his granddaughter the light of his life Everlee. He always welcomed any family or friends who chose to make an appearance at the farm. There was never a dull moment when spending time there. You could do everything from sitting on the porch looking at the amazing views to riding ATV’s. He always looked forward to the Fourth of July celebrations. Carl also got to spend time camping and traveling to see some of this beautiful country creating memories with family. Carl was nothing if not big-hearted and generous. He tried to help anyone and everyone in need. He loved to visit with family and friends and create memories. While we have lost a loved one and friend, we will keep him in our hearts for as long as we walk this earth.
Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Carl’s life at Evans Life Celebration Home-Forest Hill, 3 Newport Drive on Saturday February 10, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at which time a funeral service will be held. Interment Darlington Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.evansfuneralchapel.com
