Bruce William Smith

Bruce W. Smith, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on May 17, 2023. He lived a full and meaningful life of 83 years. Bruce was born on February 8, 1940 to Almer and Naomi Smith in Baltimore.

On February 23, 1960, Bruce united in marriage with Mary Rose Pospisil. Their marriage was a testament to their enduring commitment, as they shared 63 years together. Bruce is survived by his devoted sons, Michael B. Smith, his wife Diane and Kevin B. Smith, DVM. He was also the loving grandfather to Jeffrey and Shannon Smith. Bruce took great pride in his role as a father, passing on his values and wisdom to his sons and grandchildren.

Bruce was the loving brother of the late Robert and David Smith, Son-in-law to the late Joseph and Marie Pospisil. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Bonnie Smith, Mildred Roberts and her husband Edward, and many nieces and nephews. 

Professionally, Bruce dedicated over 30 years of his life to Lucent Technologies, where he began as an installer and later became a respected supervisor. He approached his work with dedication, integrity, and a strong work ethic, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the company.

In his free time, Bruce enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, gardening and time in the mountains and at the beach. 
 

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Bruce's life at Evans Life Celebration Home-Forest Hill, 3 Newport Drive on Sunday, May, 21, 2023, from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm.
