Betty Vander Wagen Obituary
God brought Betty Marie (Slinkman) Vander Wagen into the world on April 21, 1941, and ushered her to her eternal home on Saturday July 10, 2021, after 80 years of life that was, in her words, wonderful. She was a devoted wife to her husband Ralph for 59 years and a loving mother to Gail (Peter) Baity, Glenn (Robin) Vander Wagen, and Laura (Vien) Nguyen.
Betty found immense joy in being the grandmother to 7 grandchildren: Dawn, Ryan, Lindsay, Sarah, Abigail, John, and Lilly, and she was delighted with her great-grandchildren Eliana, Odin, and Gwen. One of six siblings, she is survived by her remaining dear sister, Pearl, and other loving family and friends.
A quiet woman of faith, Betty was generous and sacrificial in serving her family and friends. She truly was the hands and feet of her Savior Jesus and will be greatly missed.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Betty’s life at Evans Life Celebration Home-Parkville, 8800 Harford Road on Tuesday July 13, 2021, from 10:30 am-12:30 pm at which time, a service will be celebrated.
