On Sunday, October 30, 2022, after a very brief illness, Angela G. Marx was welcomed into Heaven. Angela grew up in Los Angeles, California, attended Marlborough School, was an international debutante for California, and graduated from Stephens College with a degree in Math. She later moved to Baltimore, Maryland, and obtained a degree in accounting from the University of Baltimore. After obtaining her first job with a top-four accounting firm based on her work experience as a mother of four girls (a favorite story we enjoyed hearing), Angela enjoyed a long career in accounting at public accounting firms, banks, and companies, including McCormick and PHH.
Angela was fantastic at creating special birthday and holiday moments, taking her children and husband to art and history museums and musicals, sharing a myriad of historical facts, and mentoring others. Angela loved Jesus, once took classes at the Baltimore School for the Bible and spent hours on her devotionals and in prayer. Angela also loved funny stories and quips. We’ll miss her melodious laugh! We’ll always remember Angela reading, anything from mysteries (especially those Agatha Christie’s), to history, to Christian fiction. Angela enjoyed cooking, coffee, and visiting Colonial Williamsburg.
Angela is now reunited with her precious daughter Jane Winifred; her beloved parents John Leslie Goddard and Irene Bowen; two of her sisters, Audrey and Julie; her favorite Auntie Juanita; and so many more loved ones. Angela is survived by her very loving husband Edward (Ed/Otts) Marx; her daughters Emily Irene, Victoria Leslie, and Anne Louisa; her grandchildren Diego, Olivia, Lee, Cesar, and Ava; her sister Rosemary; and by her nephews and nieces, Sean, Dawn, Lance, and Irene.
As Angela’s husband Ed said, she was a doll and the sweetest person. Angela is so, so missed. A service is planned for the week of November 7, 2022. For more details, please contact the family or post a request below.
