Myrna Rhoads Babcock, ‘Mom,’ ‘Grammy,’ ‘GG’, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2019 at the age of 84. Her most treasured roles were serving her family as devoted mother of Cheryl Ludy and husband Earl, Linda Kosmicky, Kevin Brunk and wife Vicki; proud grandmother to Jason and Julia Ludy, Megan and Hope Ludy, Ryan Kosmicky and Amy Bittner, Brandon Kosmicky, Anna Brunk, Trisha and Jon Paul Roberts, April and Bryan O’Leary; adoring great grandmother to Ryleigh and Bennett Kosmicky, Remy and Allison Roberts, Faith and Emma Wood and Daniel Myers. Loving sister of Jane Spath, Jim Rhoads, Ken and Sharon Rhoads. Also the fun and crazy aunt to many nieces and nephews. Myrna was born and raised in Baltimore, working as a teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools for 30 years. She was fully devoted to her family, church, and community. Myrna was a strong independent woman who enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved gardening, bus trips, and crabbing from the pier in the Choptank River. She never passed a baby or puppy without a visit. Her smile and silliness will be truly missed. She laughed often and hugged always.
A celebration of her life will be celebrated on October 12, 2019 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 4301 Raspe Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21206 beginning at 4 pm, with an ice cream social to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating school supplies and books at her celebration of life. Donations can also be made to Extreme Family Outreach ( https://www.extremefamilyoutreach.com/) or to Epiphany Lutheran Church.
