On August 9, 2019; Howard Leroy Smith, age 74, of Parkville; beloved husband of 51 years to JoAnne Smith; devoted father of Valerie Luddy and husband Shawn; cherished grandfather of Kyle Fitzgerald Luddy and Colin Joseph Luddy; dear brother of Ann Marie Bancroft, Phil Smith and wife Terri, and preceded in death by Jane Harper, Edith Irwin and husband William, George Robert Smith and wife Jean Conrad Smith; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Smith was an United States Marines Corp Veteran. Howard enjoyed landscaping, collecting coins, collecting military guns and enjoying time with family and grandchildren.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Howard's life at the Evans Life Celebration Home-8800 Harford Road-Parkville on Sunday, August 11 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM where a funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Howard's name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
