Dolly Jean was born on 2/21/1934 to Marie and John Henry Collier. She was born and bred at the foot of the Shenandoah Mountains along with her two brothers in Green County, VA. She was a country girl to the core. She never lost that when she moved to the Big City of Baltimore, where she met a self-confident and enthusiastic Sailor from Canton. There's was truly a wonderful love story, which produced three sons and four loving grandkids. They were married for 61 years and held hands for every day of "that many splendored thing". Dolly enjoyed her work at Princess shops and McEvoy Uniforms. She loved to bowl. play bingo and cards. She loved practical jokes. She was the Lucille Ball of our family. And, we loved ‘Lucy”. She loved to go on bus trips with her women’s group-- the Chitter Chatters. But, most of all she loved her boys, her grandkids and her entire family. We are all so thankful and lucky to have had her in our lives, and we will miss her terribly. Her legacy of love will live long after our loss.
