Cecilia and her identical twin sister (Helen) were born May 17, 1920 to Lawrence and Sophia Marciniak at their home near Broadway Market in Baltimore. As a young girl Cecilia earned her spend money by cutting hair for some of the ladies in the neighborhood. She grew up as a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Baltimore and later became a member of St. Ursula parish in Parkville and currently a member of St. Isaac Jogues Parish in Carney. She always had a love for numbers and kept a manual log of all the Pick 3 and Pick 4 Maryland Lottery Numbers starting with the first number that was ever drawn in Maryland. She developed her own cross reference book that tracked the numbers that were never drawn as well as the numbers which were drawn multiple times. Even though she tracked the Lottery numbers, she didn’t play. She was a member of Bykota Senior Center and a very proud member of the American Legion Post 183 Ladies Auxiliary in Parkville. She liked needle work, Bingo, Word Search puzzles and Solitaire.
