William Earl "Bill" LaBarre, a dedicated Naturalist, Conservationist, and Marine Corps veteran, passed away on April 3, 2024, at the age of 85 in Bel Air, Maryland. Born on October 20, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland, Bill was known for his compassionate and kind nature, always willing to volunteer and give back to his community.
Bill's career spanned various roles, from being an Outdoor Education Teacher to a Canoe Instructor, a Kitchen Designer, and serving with the Baltimore City Police. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, which included horseback riding, hiking, canoeing, boating, crabbing, martial arts, volunteering, and environmental conservation.
In addition to his professional achievements, Bill cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his children Holly Lee LaBarre, William James LaBarre, and April Layne LaBarre. He was preceded in death by his father, James Louis LaBarre, Sr., mother Elaine Larine LaBarre, and brother James Louis LaBarre, Jr.
Family and friends are invited to a service honoring Bill's life on April 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Evan's Funeral Home, 16924 York Road, Monkton, MD 21111.
Bill's legacy of empathy, dedication to conservation, and love for his family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
