Katherine Dorothy Robinette

Mrs. Robinette, devoted mother and grandmother, age 89, passed away at home holding hands with her family on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Born in New York on March 20th, 1923, she is the daughter of the late Katherine (Fabel) and John Berry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glendon Robinette. She is the loving mother of son, Gilbert Robinette of Colorado, daughters, Betti Robinette of Baltimore, JoAnne Trun and husband, Jeffrey, of Rising Sun, and Kathy Robinette-Stoneberg and husband, James, of Bel Air. She was the most committed grandmother and best friend to her only grandchild, Katie Corun (who she always introduced as the love of her life) and husband, Ronald Jr., of Fallston. She was preceded in death by her son, Glendon Robinette. In addition, Mrs. Robinette is survived by extended family, Nicole Smith of Texas, Justin Stoneberg of Virginia, Jared Stoneberg of Tennessee, Kailei Stoneberg of Utah, “Young” Justin Stoneberg of Virginia, and many others. Sister Robinette was a kindhearted and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Havre de Grace. As a member, she had many callings to include teaching Primary, organizing missionary meals, telephoning members on their birthdays, and employment specialist. She found joy in researching her genealogy as well. Mrs. Robinette served on the Commission of Women who helped fund SARC in the 1970’s. In addition, she volunteered for the SARC hotline and was a leader for the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. Known as Dot or Dottie, she worked for the Civil Service on the Aberdeen Proving Ground and retired in the early 1980’s to care for her only grandchild, Katie. Mrs. Robinette was one of a kind. She was a phenomenal woman to say the least. She devoted her time to her family and friends. She enjoyed spending quality time with those she loved and often shared unforgettable stories of her accomplished life. Mrs. Robinette gave the finest advice to those who asked but more importantly, gave priceless hugs. She reminded everyone to always look for the positive. She touched the lives of everyone she met. Many knew her as Gram and loved her dearly. Mrs. Robinette’s family would like to extended their sincere gratitude to those who visited and cared for her during the last couple of months. The healthcare providers at UCMC, Lorien at Bel Air, Synergy, Bayatta, Amedysis, Dr. Karl Spector and staff, and her dear companions treated Mrs. Robinette with compassion and professionalism. Sister Robinette enjoyed the time she was able to spend with Sister Linda and Brother Bramwell and Sister Kellee and Brother Keith Gordon, who sang to her. She was truly touched by the recent blessings bestowed upon her by visiting teacher, Brother David Weeks, and his son, Josh, as well as Brother Barry Bramwell. Bishop Leo McCafferty was Sister Robinette’s last visitor. She was delighted when she recognized him. Sister Robinette was deeply moved by his kind words and their final prayer together. We are forever grateful.

In honor of Mrs. Robinette’s wishes, there will be a private burial at Bel Air Memorial Gardens. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be on Saturday, January 19th, 2013, 11:00 am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 3836 Level Road, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078. The family suggests that contributions may be sent in Mrs. Robinette’s honor to The Humane Society of Harford County, Inc. 2208 Connolly Road, Fallston, Maryland 21047.
