On Monday, January 7, 2013, Elva E. Bourckel, age 72 of Bel Air, went to be with her Lord. She was the beloved wife for 53 years of David E. Bourckel, Sr.; devoted mother of David E. Bourckel, Jr. and wife Giovanna, and Elva Everett and husband Randy; loving grandmother of Jay “J.R.” Hieser, Samantha Hieser, Michael Bourckel, and Christopher Bourckel; caring sister of Eva Strine; sister-in-law of Don Bourckel, Pat Peters and husband Jack, John Bourckel, and Larry Bourckel and wife Vicki; and aunt of Jimmy Burton, Adam Strine, Maria Strayer, Barry Bourckel, Jack Peters, Jr., Gary Peters, Missy Freeze, Jennifer Grosholz, Abigail Adams, Emily Evans, Patrick Bourckel, Katie York, and Andrew Bourckel. During Elva’s lifelong career as an obedience instructor for the Humane Society and D.O.T.C., she obtained many titles. A loving and joyful person, Elva was a faithful servant at her church.
Family and friends will honor Elva on Friday, January 11 from 3-5 & 7-9 at the family owned Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services – Bel Air, 3 Newport Drive (Rts 23 & 24, Forest Hill). A funeral service will be held the following day at Forest Ridge Baptist Church, 2435 Bailey Road, Forest Hill, beginning at 11am, with visitation to be held the half hour prior. Interment to follow in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
