Thomas Merle Flowers

Thomas Merle Flowers, 71, of Parkton, Maryland died Friday, May 11, 2012 at his home.

Born October 26, 1940 he was the son of the late E. Kenneth and Rita K. Flowers. He was the long time loving companion of Cheryl A. Zetlmeisl.

He was a 1960 graduate of Sykesville High School. He was a salesman for Claymore C. Sieck Wholesale Florist in Baltimore for over 40 years before retiring in 2003. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 until 1964.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, attending their sporting events, and visiting with his nieces and nephews. He played semi-pro football for the Hampstead Rhinos from 1969 to 1972.

Surviving in addition to his long time companion are son and daughter-in-law Tom and Diane Flowers of Westminster, MD; son and girlfriend Tim Flowers and Gibbie Whelehan of Park City, UT; stepson and wife Paul and Kim Zetlmeisl of Baltimore, MD; stepson Daniel Zetlmeisl of Baltimore, MD; sister and brother-in-law Sue and George Pearre of Woodstock, MD; sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Denton Mallonee of Beaver Falls, PA; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Susan Flowers of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Kimberly Flowers of Hampton, VA; sister Vickie Davidson of Hampton, VA; sister and brother-in-law Diane and Bob White from Trinity, FL; grandchildren Jack, Maggie, Ben, Mason, and Brandon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brother Kenneth R. Flowers of Randallstown, MD and brother Gary E. Flowers of Austin, TX.

Family visitation and funeral arrangements will be private. Memorial contributions may be offered to the American Cancer Society.
